Trinity approves Guaranteed Admission Program with College of Lake County

Deerfield, Ill. - Trinity International University and College of Lake County have approved a Guaranteed Admissions Program for students who want to complete a bachelor's degree.

Under terms of the agreement, accepted transferring students with at least a 3.0 GPA at CLC will be guaranteed grant assistance at Trinity totaling at least $14,000 per year.

College of Lake County offers transfer and career programs at campuses in Grayslake, Vernon Hills, and Waukegan, as well as several dozen extension sites throughout the county. Trinity confers bachelor's degrees in more than 70 programs of study.

CLC students who wish to transfer to Trinity to complete a bachelor's degree will be guaranteed acceptance if they complete a list of requirements specified in the program agreement.

The baseline academic requirements include grades of 'C' or better in all CLC English courses, and achievement of at least a 2.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for completed CLC courses. CLC students are strongly urged to be in contact with the Trinity admissions office for at least one year prior to their first semester at the University.

Transfer students interested in Trinity's education or athletic training programs must achieve at least a 2.5 GPA at CLC and apply for admission to those specific programs after becoming a Trinity student. Students with at least a 3.5 GPA may join the pool of applicants for the University's Honors Program.

Students who fail to fulfill requirements for the Guaranteed Admissions Program still may apply to Trinity using the traditional admissions process.

"It is a joy for Trinity to participate in this partnership with CLC as together we seek to serve well the citizens of this region," Trinity President David S. Dockery said. "Both institutions desire to be good community citizens, and this agreement is another strong step toward that end."

The Guaranteed Admission Program is renewable on an annual basis. For more information, contact Trinity's transfer enrollment counselor at transfer@tiu.edu.
