GOP Fall Rally set for Sept. 17 at Geneva ballpark

Meet the game changers who are working to turn around Illinois and learn how you can help at the GOP Fall Rally from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Fifth Third Ballpark in Geneva.

Meet candidates in an informal setting, learn about the five points of Governor Rauner's Turnaround Agenda and other issues facing families today, visit local organizations working to promote Republican principles, and enjoy a good old-fashioned ballpark cookout. The cookout includes hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, chicken, sides, dessert, and beverages. There will be a cash bar. Fireworks will end the event.

Illinois Republicans believe that the five points of Governor Rauner's Turnaround Agenda are key to saving our state. Subject matter experts, information displays, and free-spirited conversation will be featured for these five points: (1.) Worker's Compensation/Unemployment Reform, (2.) Property Tax Freeze, (3.) Tort Reform, (4.) Term Limits, and (5.) Fair Political District Maps.

Speakers include Dan Proft and Joe Walsh of AM560 WIND radio, and the emcee is DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan. Scheduled to attend are U. S. Congressman Randy Hultgren (14th District), U.S. Congressman Peter Roskam (6th District), Tonia Khouri who is running in the 11th District, National Republican Committeewoman Demetra Demonte, Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti, state senators Jim Oberweis (25th District) and Karen McConnaughay (33rd District), and state representatives Keith Wheeler (50th), Steven Andersson (65th), and Robert Pritchard (70th). Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen will welcome attendees to Kane County. Many local office holders will also attend.

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald J. Trump and Governor Bruce Rauner have also been invited to attend. Speakers are subject to change.

Sept. 17 is Constitution Day. Pocket constitutions will be available as well as a large U.S. Constitution that participants can sign.

Live auction items include concealed carry classes, symphony tickets, a Cougars party suite, a Smoky Mountain vacation, a helicopter tour over Kane County, and baseballs autographed by Illinois politicians specifically for this event. Silent auction entries include Arcada Theatre performance tickets, gift baskets, and several Historical Days in Springfield with your representatives. Six elected officials are each offering a unique experience that may include tours, an office visit, and a private lunch.

The GOP Fall Rally is organized by the Western Kane County Republican Organization.

The ballpark is at 34W002 Cherry Lane, off Kirk Road just south of Route 38 in Geneva. The rally will be held in the outfield decks, which offer both sheltered and open sky seating.
