Boys soccer: St. Charles East trips up Batavia

Justin Stepien had 2 goals to lead St. Charles East to a 4-1 Upstate Eight River boys soccer win over Batavia (3-5, 0-1) Tuesday.

Truitt Battin and Colin Coine also added scores for the Saints (8-1-1, 1-1).

Dundee-Crown 2, Hampshire 0: Behind Jeremy Jareckyj and Gerardo Estrada, the Chargers (5-5, 1-1) were victors in Fox Valley Conference action. Keeper Luiz Cruz had 1 save to go with his 1 assist while Arnol Batres had 1 assist as well. Hampshire (5-3-1, 0-1) keeper Jason Polletta made 9 saves.

CL South 4, Washington 0: Andrew Grabowski mustered 2 goals while Ryan Coughlin and Nikolas Getzinger added goals in a Gatorade Bracket PepsiCo win. Marcin Sliwinski, Jack Wruck, Alex Canfield and Tommy Ciezadlo all garnered assists for the Gators (7-2-1) while keeper Brandon Gorka's second shutout came on 8 saves.

Aurora Central 5, Guerin 2: The Chargers improved to 5-1-2 with a Metro Suburban crossover win. Juan Pablo Alanis, Brennan Hare, Brett Czerak, Eder Olivas and Oscar Rodriguez netted goals. Keeper Jeffery Remlinger collected 8 saves.

Harvest Christian 4, IMSA 0: Cesar Velazquez tallied 2 goals in a Northeastern Athletic win for the Lions (5-1, 4-0), who led 3-0 at the half. Rapheal DeSouza had 1 goal and 2 assists while Antonio Nevarez notched 1 goal. Goalie Matthew Baron needed 6 saves for the shutout.

Elgin Academy 7, Morgan Park 0: Both Elliott Wittmeyer and Karan Gowda, who had 1 assist, turned in hat tricks for the Hilltoppers (3-4, 1-3) during a commanding Independent School League win. Nick Kathrein scored as well while Simon Baliisi added 1 assist. Keeper Pranav Sai recorded a shutout with 3 saves.

Back of the Yards 4, Burlington Central 1: In PepsiCo action, the Rockets (3-4-3) came up unsuccessful despite Enrique Martinez's first half goal. Max Freeman added an assist.

Joliet Central 1, East Aurora 0: Central's goal in the 30th minute held up for a PepsiCo win. Keeper Salvaldor Gonzalez managed 14 saves for the Tomcats in the loss.
