BG Singers holds choral concerts this weekend

The 24th annual choral concert by the Buffalo Grove Park District's BG Singers will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center, 225 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove.

Directed by Linda Rosen, with musical direction by Dan Ermel and choreography by Charla Silver, "Carry On" features new arrangements of old favorites and new pop hits, along with folk, rock and Broadway music.

"The power of music crosses all ages and genres," says Rosen. "When you hear the singers bring their energy to the classic folk sounds of Cat Stevens, and then shift to Coldplay and Broadway standards, you become inspired. It is our pleasure to share the group's excitement for the music with our entire community."

In addition to singing, the BG Singers are proud to be the chorus that cares. This season, they raised funds to provide backpacks and school supplies for students in Vernon Township. In 2015, they raised more than $15,000 for the American Cancer Society and Pediatric Cancer Research.

Tickets for all performances are available online at bgsingers.org. Advance ticket prices are $17 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger and seniors 62 and older. All tickets purchased at the door are $20.
