Stop by model train club's fall open house Sunday

The Kishwaukee Valley & Eakin Creek Model Railroad Club invites the community to stop by the Fall Open House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Many longtime visitors have made the fall open house a final tribute to the summer season, one last goodbye to the outdoor fun for the summer just passed.

Before they take the trains indoors for the Holiday Display, come out one more time and see the model trains.

This final outdoor event will be held in the backyard and basement of the MiIlgrove Woodshop, 13400 Sun City Blvd. in Huntley. Admission is free but we ask that children be accompanied by adults. Guests may call (847) 669-2392 or log on to the Sun City website at sccah.com to get updates for upcoming events.

The annual Holiday Display will open Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Prairie Lodge Social Lounge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd. in Huntley. The event will run through Wednesday, Dec. 28. This year, the club will raffle off three Lionel O gauge Polar Express trains, made famous by the 2004 movie. The raffle date is set for Friday, Dec. 23. Winners need not be present.
