Girls volleyball: Dundee-Crown 2nd at West Chicago

The Dundee-Crown girls volleyball team finished in second place Saturday at West Chicago's Pass, Set, Spike Tournament.

The Chargers went 3-2 for the day, losing twice to St. Viator including 25-20, 21-25, 25-21 in the championship match. D-C (6-5) defeated Larkin, Bartlett and West Chicago.

Leading the Chargers in the tournament were Emma Brant (38 kills, 11 blocks), Ayana Gard (33 kills, 15 digs, 6 aces, 5 blocks), Jenna Thelen (16 kills, 17 digs, 22 aces), Ali Buckley (10 kills, 96 assists, 18 digs, 11 aces), Zoe Sitarz (54 digs) and Irene Martin (22 digs, 8 kills).

Larkin went 1-3 in the tournament, falling to Bartlett, D-C and St. Viator and defeating Fenton.

Natalie Kofie (14 kills, 49 assists, 8 aces, 25 digs), Maggie Huecksteadt (12 kills, 14 digs), April McGhee (19 kills, 6 assists, 7 aces, 23 digs), Ashley Price (15 digs), Nikki Alm (12 kills) and Mallory Boulton (15 kills) were the Royals' leaders.
