Eisenhower carjacking results in suspect's death

One suspect is dead, two suspects are in custody and another at large following a carjacking Friday night on the Eisenhower Expressway.

Illinois State police said the suspect died after jumping from the Harlem Avenue overpass onto the expressway.

State police said the carjacking took place in Hillside around 8:30 p.m., with the car being taken at gunpoint.

Illinois State Police pursued the vehicle as the driver took off down the Eisenhower Expressway,

The driver stopped at the Harlem Avenue exit, after which four passengers jumped out of the vehicle and began fleeing on foot.

Two suspects were caught, state police said, while police are still seeking the remaining suspect.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The chase and investigation shut down some lanes of the expressway.
