Girls swimming and diving: Hoffman Estates savors dual-meet victory

Hoffman Estates' girls swimming and diving team broke a dual-meet victory drought that had stretched more than four years with an 89-79 victory over visiting Elk Grove on Thursday.

The Hawks were without several top performers but still got the job done thanks to double-victory efforts from Renata Widelak and Casey Rawlings.

Widelak won the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.78) and the 100 fly (1:07.71), while Rawlings won the 200 IM (2:33.28) and the 100 breastroke (1:13.90). Other Hawks winners included Sunny Park (100 free) and Ali Bajor (100 back).

Elk Grove got winning efforts from diver Anna Sprenger (202.05) and from Melena Herrera in the 500 free.
