District 15 reviewing procedures after student gets on wrong bus

After a second grader from Central Road Elementary School in Palatine got on the wrong bus one day this week, district officials said they are reviewing their procedures to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The girl was supposed to get on a bus to KinderCare, but instead got on a bus she had taken in the past and got off at her old stop, said Palatine Township Elementary District 15 Superintendent Scott Thompson.

The student was quickly picked up and Thompson said both KinderCare and the school are working on a plan to make sure all students, bus drivers and staff are aware of the proper transportation at the end of the day.
