Girls volleyball: St. Edward rolls to easy win

Dominique Washington had 15 kills while Jessy Kramp added 7 kills and Brianna Lopez 12 digs Thursday to lead the St. Edward girls volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-7 Metro Suburban Conference win over Walther Christian.

Taylor Schueler added 5 kills for the Green Wave (4-5, 2-0) and Emily Stapay had 10 assists.

Dundee-Crown d. McHenry: Emma Brant had 10 kills, Ayana Gard 8 kills and 8 digs and Jenna Thelen 6 kills, 14 digs, 6 aces and 3 blocks to lead the Chargers (3-3, 3-3) to a Fox Valley Conference win. Paige Gieske added 5 kills and 4 blocks for D-C while Ali Buckley had 28 assists and 7 digs and Zoe Sitzarz added 10 digs.

West Aurora d. East Aurora: In the Upstate Eight Valley, Farah Taki had 8 kills, Kayla Battle 4 kills, Natalie Jones 11 assists, Ali Greenwood 13 digs and Cynthia Martinez 8 digs to lead West Aurora (9-6-1) to a 25-11, 25-9 win.

Huntley d. Hampshire: Sarah Zayas had 13 digs, Ally Dion 7 kills and 5 aces and Taylor Jakubowski 21 assists for Huntley in a 25-17, 25-9 FVC win.

Glenbard South d. ACC: Sydney Audiffred (7 kills, 12 digs), Katie O'Donnell (5 kills), Hayley Decker (5 kills), Sarah Elliott (16 assists) and Rachel Herreld (12 digs) led Aurora Central Catholic (11-4, 3-1) in a Metro Suburban loss.
