How to file your property tax appeal

Palatine Township residents can now file an appeal to the assessed valuation of their property with the Cook County Board of Review.

Township taxpayers can appeal through Wednesday, Oct. 5. Any reduction granted will appear on the second half of the 2016 tax bill, which is payable in the early fall of 2017. A reduction in the assessed value can help reduce property taxes.

If you would like to learn more about filing an appeal Palatine Township will host a seminar with Board of Review Commissioner DAN PATLAK on "How to File an Appeal With the Board of Review" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows.
