Who's Who in Heatlh Care: Bill Kottmann, President and CEO, Edward Hospital

Bill Kottmann is president & CEO of Edward Hospital, a job he began on July 1, 2016, taking over for Pam Davis, who held the position since 1988 and is now focusing on her duties as System CEO of Edward-Elmhurst Health, which includes Edward, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health.

Kottmann, a longtime Naperville resident and health care veteran, takes over a hospital that is the 9th largest in the Chicago, has 354 beds, 5,800 employees and annual revenue of $700 million.

Over the last year, Edward has been named to the Becker's Hospital Review list of “100 Great Community Hospitals” and Truven Health Analytics' lists of “50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in the U.S.”

Kottmann was previously system vice president of physician and ambulatory network development. He was also president of Edward-Elmhurst's joint venture division, responsible for physician and outpatient network development, joint venture strategies, and all real estate development and management, a job he'll continue along with his CEO responsibilities.

Kottmann joined Edward in 1991 as vice president of human resources and became vice president of operations in 1993. In 2005, he was named president of Edward's joint venture division. Kottmann has more than 10 years of experience in the banking and consulting industries.

Kottmann is a founding board member and past chairman of the Naperville Development Partnership. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a BA in Environmental Science from the State University of New York, an MA in Psychology from Roosevelt University and an MBA from Benedictine University. Kottmann and wife, Donna, raised two daughters and now have two grandchildren.
