Who's Who in Health Care: Gina Sharp, President and CEO, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health

Gina Sharp is president & CEO of Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, which includes a 108-bed behavioral health hospital on the campus of Edward Hospital in Naperville and outpatient offices in Hinsdale, Naperville, Plainfield, St. Charles, Woodridge and Yorkville. Linden Oaks also manages behavioral health services for Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights.

Sharp began her career at Edward Hospital in 1999 in the finance division and was promoted to Controller at Linden Oaks in 2004. In 2013, she was named CEO of Linden Oaks.

Among Sharp's accomplishments: An improvement in financial operations; a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care; integration of behavioral and medical care; and the successful redesign of operations of the Access and Referral Center, with a resulting increase in annual behavioral health assessments from 6,300 to nearly 10,000, and 120,000 clinical calls a year on the Linden Oaks “Help Line.” She is passionate about integrating behavioral health services within primary care physician offices and other medical programs.

Sharp is an advocate for community awareness of behavioral health issues through education and prevention programs like Mental Health First Aid and Signs of Suicide. She is a member of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Sharp earned her Bachelor of Science in Community Health at University of Illinois-Champaign and Master of Business Administration from DePaul University. She has been a Naperville resident since 2000, where she lives with her husband and three children.
