Boomers comeback for win over Windy City

The Schaumburg Boomers got the timely hitting they've been looking for all season Friday night as they came back in the eighth inning for a 4-3 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts.

Windy City struck first, scoring an unearned run in the first. Coco Johnson made it 2-0 Bolts with an RBI-single in the fifth.

Windy City was up 3-0 after five and a half innings before the Schaumburg bats came alive.

Jordan Dean ripped a double down the left field line to make it 3-1. After a ground out and a walk, Mikal Hill drove in Dean with an RBI-single to pull the Boomers within one.

Hill tied the game at 3 in the eighth with an RBI-single. Tobias Moreno followed with a single on the first pitch he saw to make it 4-3. Dexter Price pitched a scoreless ninth for his 15th save on the year and his 59th of his career.

Scott Schultz pitched 5⅓, striking out 4 and allowing 3 runs, only one of which was earned. The Boomers bullpen threw 3⅔ of scoreless relief to lead Schaumburg to its 21st comeback win of the year.
