Learn about election issues, candidates and party platforms at Voterpollooza Sept. 27

On National Voter Registration Day, stop by Voterpollooza from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. If the last time you understood the election process was watching "Schoolhouse Rock," this fun, interactive voter's information fair is for you! Learn about the issues, candidates, and party platforms while being "infotained" by music collective Watch City and juggler Jason Kollum, aka "Uncle Sam on stilts." Visit gailborden.info.

And you can register to vote! To be eligible, a person must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years of age by the general election and reside in the precinct for 30 days prior to the next election which is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Applicants should bring two forms of identification that show their current name and address, such as a driver's license, Social Security card, utility bill, or credit card.
