The Holmstad offers Wild West Grandparents Day Celebration

The Holmstad Town Center will transform into the Wild West for its annual Grandparents Day Celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. Area families are invited to join the fun at The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

The free celebration will include a horse-drawn trolley, pony rides, and a petting zoo. There will be face painting, a balloon artist and a clown; carnival and Western-themed games, such as horse lasso, cornhole and corn box; and country music performances by singing cowboy Rick Pickren and The Running Fox Bluegrass Band.

Kids can take part in a plant craft from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy a Western cookout menu for lunch, with pulled pork sandwiches and grilled chicken, corn on the cob, green beans, coleslaw, and sliced watermelon. For dessert, there's an ice cream sundae and root beer float buffet, plus a water station and summer treats and snacks available throughout the afternoon.

Proceeds from the dunk tank and Western photo booth will benefit The Holmstad's Resident Council, a resident-led committee which supports initiatives to enhance the campus, including life enrichment, employee appreciation, library and computer services, fellowship and more.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. For information about The Holmstad's Grandparents Day Celebration, visit www.TheHolmstad.org or call (877) 226-7310.
