College bound series starts Thursday at Dundee Library

This fall, the Fox River Valley Public Library will host several programs to assist students and their parents with finding, applying to, and funding a college education.

All programs are free and will be held at the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave. (Route 68) in East Dundee.

The first in the series will be "The Financial Aid Process" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.

Attendees will learn about college costs, types of financial aid and how to apply, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The other programs, which all start at 7 p.m., will be "Paying for College Without Going Broke" Tuesday, Sept. 13; "The College Application Process" on Tuesday, Oct. 25; "All About Scholarships" on Tuesday, Nov. 8; and "Finding the Best Fit College" on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The district serves residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin, Elgin, and Barrington Hills.
