Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe

1 (32 ounce) bottle of ketchup (about 3.5 cups)

1 cup water

1 cup red wine vinegar

¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

1 lemon squeezed (about 2 tablespoons)

1½ cups brown sugar

2 teaspoons onion powder

2 tablespoons black pepper

Combine all of the ingredients in a large stock pot. Bring to a low boil and then reduce heat. Simmer for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Can be kept in the refrigerator for about 1 week or frozen in smaller batches, if desired.

Makes 4 cups
