Springfield woman sentenced for DUI in fatal crash

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A 29-year-old Springfield woman who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in a crash that killed two people has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The State Journal-Register (http://bit.ly/2bEbKWy ) reports that Andrea Little pleaded guilty May 12 to aggravated driving under the influence and lesser charges.

Authorities say Little was intoxicated at the time of the Oct. 25, 2014, crash that killed 16-year-old Danielle Allen of Pleasant Plains and 35-year-old Steven Moore of Jacksonville.

Little will have to serve 85 percent of the sentence. She received credit for nearly 670 days spent in the Sangamon County Jail waiting for her case to be resolved.

Little's attorney, Robert Scherschligt, told the court that his client suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from her military experience and had received mental health counseling and medication from an early age.
