Boomers lose 14-1 at home

The Schaumburg Boomers fell behind early and couldn't stop the bleeding as they dropped their third straight to Lake Erie by a final of 14-1.

The Crushers jumped out early with a three run first inning. They tacked on two more in the second to make it 5-0. Lake Erie stretched the lead to 7-0 in the fourth before Tobias Moreno drew a two-out with the bases loaded to make it 7-1. The Crushers put the game out of reach in the fifth with a seven-run outburst.

Kurt Lipscomb threw five strong innings in relief, allowing two runs and striking out five. Schaumburg looks for a fresh start as they head to Windy City for a three-game weekend series and Seth Webster (7-8, 3.95) on the bump.
