Girls golf: Barrington fires school record to stay perfect in MSL

Defending Mid-Suburban League girls golf champion Barrington improved to 4-0 in the league by shooting a school-record 145 on Thursday at Palatine Hills Golf Course in Palatine.

Prospect, which won seven straight titles before Barrington's crown last fall, was second with a 155 followed by host Palatine (200).

The low medalists were Palatine's Jenny Myslinski and Barrington's Reena Sulkar, who shot 1-under par 35s.

Completing the Fillies' score card were Nicole Ciskowski (36), Shivani Majmudar (36) and Caroline Smith (38).

Prospect was led by Sabrina Accardi (37), Kate Ponzi (39), Emily Fleming (39) and Mary Schafer (40).

Buffalo Grove wins: Buffalo Grove (167) posted wins over host Hersey (177) and Fremd (187) at the Rob Roy Golf Course (par 36) in Arlington Heights.

Junior Haeri Lee parred every hole for a 36 to lead BG followed by teammates Jasmine Yi (37), Grace Gran (45) and Katie Fontanetta (49).

Hersey was led by Megan Kopeny (41), Jasmin Lee -(45), Kelly McCarthy (45) and Abby Brush (46) while top players for Fremd were Ann Marie O'Sullivan (40) and Annie Gao (40).

Conant wins: Conant shot a 165 at the Arlington Lakes Golf Club (par 34) in Arlington Heights to defeat Schaumburg (190) and host Rolling Meadows (190).

Michelle Zhang (39), Lina Jang (42), Nimra Syed (42) and Tida Bowers (42) were top scorers for the Cougars while Schaumburg was paced by Jennifer Cappello (40) and Trinity Corwin (45).

Rolling Meadows was led by Nicole Von Oesen (42), Mallory Brand (46) and Kelsey Martin (48).

Wheeling wins: Wheeling shot a 193 at Highland Woods in Hoffman Estates to defeat Elk Grove (217) and host Hoffman Estates (245).

Adrienne Rohwedder (39) and Symantha Rohwedder (41) led the Wildcats while Amy Carpenter (49) was the top scorer for EG.
