Park Chu-young helps FC Seoul to 3-1 win over Shandong

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Former Arsenal forward Park Chu-young scored one goal and made another as FC Seoul beat Shandong Luneng 3-1 in the first leg of their Asian Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Later Wednesday, Dubai side Al Nasr took a big advantage into the second leg with a 3-0 away win over El Jaish at Doha.

Park set up striker Dejan Damjanovic for the opener in the 19th minute before scoring himself in the 31st.

Midfielder Walter Montillo scored for Shandong in the 35th minute, but substitute Adriano made sure of Seoul's win in the 69th.

Damjanovic got Seoul up and running after Park curled in a perfect cross from the right, then Park doubled Seoul's lead by drilling home after a through ball from Cho Chan-ho.

Seoul's two-goal lead didn't last long, however, with Montillo bending a free kick from 25 yards over the wall and into the bottom corner in the 35th.

Shandong signed Graziano Pelle from Premier League side Southampton recently, but the Italy striker - who played well at the recent European Championship - headed off target in the 64th minute.

Shortly afterwards, Adriano wrapped up the win for Seoul, converting from 13 yards after a back-heeled pass from Damjanovic.

Jin Jingdao was then sent off for Shandong for a second yellow card in the 81st minute.

At Doha, two goals from Brazilian striker Wanderley helped lead Al Nasr to its emphatic win over El Jaish.

After a slow start at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, Wanderley gave Al Nasr the lead just before halftime. Jonathan Pitroipa's goal put the visitors two up on 54 minutes before Wanderley scored his second with six minutes remaining.

Al Nasr is attempting to make the semifinals for the first time.

The second legs are Sept. 13-14.
