Boys soccer: South Elgin opens with win over Geneva

Derek Baker scored both goals Wednesday to lead the South Elgin boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Geneva in the Storm's season opener.

Eduardo Carrillo and Alan Gomez each had an assist for South Elgin.

Huntley 4, Marian Central 1: Aaron Ruffner notched a hat trick and Zach Whitaker added a goal as Huntley (1-1) won this nonconference game. Michael Parks and Kevin Sieb each had 2 saves in goal for the Red Raiders.

Elgin Academy 2, Hiawatha 0: Karan Gowda scored both goals for Elgin Academy in this nonconference win. Pierson Gonzalez and Murtaza Shah had assists and David Zuzevich made 9 saves in goal for the Hilltoppers.
