School starts in St. Charles District 303

Students in St. Charles Unit District 303 began classes this week knowing their drinking water is safe. The district completed testing and remediation of all drinking fountains in district buildings showing high levels of lead over the summer.

Seven of St. Charles' schools also made Chicago Magazine's new list of the top 10 elementary schools in Kane County.

At the high school level, the pressure will be on the Class of 2017.

District officials announced Wednesday the Class of 2016 posted the highest ACT composite score in the district's history. The new high score of 23.8 surpasses the previous record of 23.6 set by the Class of 2010 and matched by the Class of 2014.
