Jacob Mueller and Michael Watt each shot a 39, and Libertyville's boys golf team edged Carmel Catholic on a fifth-score tiebreaker at Pine Meadow in Mundelein on Tuesday.

Libertyville and Carmel each carded a 159. Vernon Hills had a 162 and was led by medalist Justin Park' 36.

The winning Wildcats also received a 40 from Mitch Kenston and matching 41s from Michael Sefton and Josh Blockinger. Carmel was led by Jack Herron's 37. Tyler Anderson and Will Roberts each carded a 40 for the Corsairs.

Wauconda d. Grant: At Antioch Golf Club, Matt Szmajda shot a 43 to earn medalist honors, as Wauconda (184) beat Grant (190) in the inaugural Northern Lake County Conference match.

Wauconda also counted Matt O'Brien's 44, John Herbst's 48 and Ty Janik's 49.

Grant was paced by Ricky Flogel's 44.

Lake Zurich d. Zion-Benton: At Shepard's Crook, Konnor Kininmonth fired a winning, 1-over-par 36, and the visiting Bears (156) beat the Zee-Bees (173) in North Suburban Conference action.

Nate Hughes added a 39 for Lake Zurich, which also counted Ryan Brandt's 40 and Tyler Gillen's 41.

Karl Torola had a 39 for Zion-Benton.
