Habitat to hold fall Women Build event

Women can learn construction skills and help build a home for a family in need during the 2016 DuPage Habitat for Humanity Fall Women Build. No experience is necessary.

The mission of Women Build is to recruit, educate and nurture women to build and advocate for simple, decent and affordable housing in their communities. Volunteers of every skill level are welcome. Habitat will teach, support and train all participants on the build site.

The Community Builders will work from 9 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 1, at 177 S. Route 53, Bensenville. Corporate Builders will also work on the project from 8 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. the week of Monday, Sept. 26, to Friday, Sept. 30.

The work days include yoga, pampering stations, power tool demonstrations, catered breakfast and lunch. All tools, safety gear and training will be provided on-site.

To sponsor the event, bring a team out or build as an individual, visit dupagehabitat.org/womenBuild/.
