The 2016 Grape Crush Begins in Roselle

The 2016 grape crush for Lynfred Winery began Tuesday, August 16 with 20 tons of beautiful Pinot Noir grapes from Colavita Vineyards in California's Coastal Region.

Lynfred Winery's Chilean winemaking duo of Andres Basso and Rodrigo Gonzalez are very excited about the first crop of grapes arriving at the winery. The Pinot Noir grapes from Colavita Vineyards are, according to head winemaker Gonzalez, "beautiful in color and numbers". The numbers Gonzalez is referring to are the brix (sugar level), acidity and Ph.

In the coming weeks the winery will be receiving over 300 tons of grapes from Illinois, California and Washington. Harvest closes out with Ice Wine grapes arriving from Lemon Creek Vineyards, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, after the first frost.
