Hanover Township wants to know about needs of community

After several months of planning and research, Hanover Township has launched its Community Needs Assessment Survey. The survey will help to gain perspective on the community's awareness of programs and services offered by the township as well as to receive important feedback and information from the residents within the communities that it serves.

"While the township officials and staff are well connected to the people, organizations and businesses in the community, this survey will provide us with the information we need to properly evaluate our current services and develop plans moving forward to meet the needs of the community," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "We are looking for feedback from residents of all municipalities, ages, races and backgrounds."

The brief survey is available online at the township website, www.hanover-township.org, or can be completed at any township facility. Staff from the University of Illinois-Rockford Health Systems Research assisted in the formulation of questions and methods of evaluation.

"The survey is one part of the township's three year strategic plan that addresses the several different focus areas that the officials and department heads identified," said James C. Barr, Hanover Township Administrator. "Since then and moving forward, we continue to evaluate programs and trends in providing recommendations to the officials in improving service delivery."

Residents are asked to complete the survey by Dec. 31.
