A.J. Bush lands at Iowa Western CC day after leaving Huskers

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A day after announcing he was leaving Nebraska, quarterback A.J. Bush joined the program at Iowa Western Community College.

Iowa Western coach Scott Strohmeier said Friday night that Bush has transferred to his school.

Bush never appeared in a game in two seasons at Nebraska. The sophomore from Alpharetta, Georgia, had been competing with freshman Patrick O'Brien for the No. 3 job behind Tommy Armstrong Jr. and Ryker Fyfe.

Bush was recruited out of high school powerhouse Norcross High in 2014 by the staff of former coach Bo Pelini. He had other offers from Cincinnati, Kansas State, Toledo, Troy and Georgia State.
