DuPage investigators searching for clues about Baby Hope's mom

DuPage County sheriff's deputies and a group of volunteers will be out in large numbers this weekend continuing the search for the mother of Baby Hope.

The day-old infant was discovered dead by landscapers working Monday on Plamondon Road, just east of Orchard Road near Wheaton.

Her death has spurred a weeklong investigation by the sheriff's department and an outpouring of support from the community.

Officials have been fielding calls from volunteers offering to pay for and assist with a funeral for the infant, but authorities say they are determined to find her parents or other relatives first.

To that end, deputies and volunteers are expected to be out through Sunday distributing leaflets about the case and seeking help from any possible witnesses.

Anyone traveling along Plamondon Road between 9 and 11 p.m. Sunday also is asked to call the DuPage County sheriff's office at (630) 407-2400.
