Morton's Steakhouse's lobster night
It's lobster night at Morton's The Steakhouse from 5 p.m. to close Friday, Aug. 19. Two-pound steamed lobsters cost $35. Add a bottle of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Karia chardonnay for $49. And finish it off with dessert: Morton's Legendary Sundae, a hot chocolate cake mounded on top of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and whipped cream for $18. Alexander's Cafe now open
Popular Elgin brunch spot Alexander's Cafe has opened a new location, this time in St. Charles. The new outpost serves breakfast and lunch specials, from hickory smoked ham off the bone to barbecue chicken salads to locally sourced burgers. IHOP's dollar short stack
IHOP offers up a short stack of its buttermilk pancakes for $1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23. All of the proceeds benefit No Kid Hungry, an organization serving hungry children across America. IHOP's goal is to serve a million pancakes. IHOP has locations throughout the suburbs. IHOP.com.
