Barrington Main St. crossing likely to reopen Tuesday

Emergency repairs to the CN rail line in downtown Barrington which shut down the crossing at Main Street over the weekend are expected to be done by Tuesday afternoon, Village Manager Jeff Lawler said.

Lawler said the village received notice from CN on Friday that a monthly ultrasound test of the tracks had uncovered an internal defect. Because they didn't know if or when the defect would become a major problem, they started work to remedy the issue right away.

The village will put out an announcement when the Main Street railroad crossing is reopened, Lawler said.
