Allured Business Media Sponsors a Matching Campaign

For the fifth year in a row, Allured Business Media of Carol Stream will sponsor an endowment campaign for the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) in order to help provide groceries to a local senior citizen living in poverty. Allured conducted a successful donation matching campaign last year with HSP, resulting in the permanent addition of a senior to the Senior Citizen Project (SCP), and will be continuing with a new campaign again this year. For every dollar raised by community members for the campaign, Allured will match the amount up to $7,500. The purpose of this campaign is to raise a $16,000 endowment to permanently enroll a new senior citizen to HSP's Senior Citizen Project. This will provide a low-income senior living in DuPage or Kane County with a 95-100 lb. monthly grocery package for life. The campaign will run from Monday, August 15th until Friday, October 14th, 2016.

For more than 80 years, Allured Business Media has been leading the way as a source for global information regarding cosmetic, spa and salon, and fragrance and flavor industries. They collect and publish information in numerous media platforms, although their highly regarded magazines, conferences, and trade shows tend to be the most popular. Allured has partnered with Humanitarian Service Project and successfully raised endowments over the previous 4 years. This resulted in the addition of 4 seniors to the program so far, bringing the current enrollment to 133.

The Senior Citizen Project currently serves 133 low-income seniors living in DuPage and Kane counties with groceries on a monthly basis. Each month, they receive a variety of 15 fresh fruits and vegetables, 7 packages of frozen meat, 3 loaves of bread, 6 bags of non-perishables, and a gift from their Secret Pal. Every three months, they also receive personal care items, such as shampoo, conditioner, and other hygiene products.
