Construction to close part of Boyer Road in Algonquin

Construction related to the Longmeadow Parkway project will shut down part of Boyer Road in Algonquin for about three weeks starting Tuesday, Kane County officials said.

Boyer Road will be closed from Huntley Road to Corporate Parkway while crews reconstruct the road, according to a news release from the county's division of transportation. It is expected to reopen Sept. 7, depending on weather conditions.

Drivers will still have access to local homes and businesses, officials said, but through traffic will be redirected to Randall Road, County Line Road, Huntley Road and other parts of Boyer Road.

The proposed Longmeadow Parkway project, a 5.6-mile corridor and toll bridge over the Fox River, is expected to pass through parts of Algonquin, Carpentersville and Barrington Hills. The Boyer Road construction is associated with the project's first phase, which extends from Huntley/Boyer Roads to just west of Randall Road.
