$1,300 of holiday toy drive gifts stolen in central Indiana

ALEXANDRIA, Ind. (AP) - Police in the central Indiana city of Alexandria are looking for suspects in the theft of about $1,300 worth of gifts meant for a holiday toy drive.

The (Anderson) Herald-Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/2b83mvy ) the toy drive organizer told police the toys were stolen sometime between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Alexandria Toy Drive organizer Terri Brenner says volunteers were moving the toys from one storage unit to another when they were taken.

The stolen toys included board games, remote control cars and dolls. The toy drive has operated since 1994, donating Christmas toys to children age 11 and younger in Alexandria, Summitville and Orestes.

Police are asking for information or tips.
