Wheeling Chamber holds forum on cyber security

The majority of cyber attacks and data breaches are not directed at the Targets and Home Depots of the world, but are targeted at small to medium size businesses. Why? How can you protect your business?

The Wheeling/Prospect Heights Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry is presenting a panel of professionals from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Westin Chicago North Shore, 601 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling.

They will address who is being targeted, how every business is exposed, what a cyber breach can cost your company in money and clients and shat practical steps you can take before and after a breach to save your business from disaster.

Presenters are Susan Dawson of Waltz, Palmer & Dawson LLC; Laura Zaroski of Socius Insurance Services Inc.; Debbie Heerdegen of DSP Insurance Services Inc.; David Kolssak of TURNkey Information Technologies Inc.; and Scott Laverd, crime prevention officer with the Wheeling Police Department.

The cost of the event, which includes breakfast, is $25 to $35. Register at www.wphchamber.com by Monday, Aug. 15.
