Special interests control crop safety

Nancy Thorner's letter on the safety of GMO products is well written and very persuasive, except it ignores the issues of the increased use of Round-Up used by farmers to control weeds in the crop fields and the use of Round-Up post harvest to open the grains.

The result is the uptake of glyphosates, a toxic chemicals that causes ill health in the consumer of the crop. I recommend two books. Science in the Private by Krimsky and Altered Genes and Twisted Truth by Steven Drucker.

The World Health Organization has declared that glyphosates are carcinogenic. It is only the concentration that determines how long it will take to kill all living things.

Animal and Vegetable. On July 30, President Obama signed the DARK act denying our right to know what we are consuming. The language of the bill is a shell game designed to hide the truth about what we are consuming.

The lobbyists for Monsanto have won again to the detriment of the American public. In over 60 countries in the world there are simple labeling laws that inform the consumer of what they are consuming.

Bernie Sanders was against the DARK act. The special interest status quo reins, since our congressmen take their dole. God help us and our future generations.
