Lakemoor Fest offers fireworks, contests and more Aug. 12-14

Lakemoor Fest 2016 will be Friday through Sunday, Aug. 12-14, at Morrison Park, 233 Rand Road, Lakemoor.

Festival hours are 4-11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The event features carnival rides, food and music every day, with several tournaments and other activities planned.

Admission to the festival is free. A carnival ride special will be offered with unlimited rides for $25 on Friday and Sunday.

Friday's highlights include a beanbag tournament for a trophy prize with an entry fee of $10 per team of two, and a $3 beer special

Saturday highlights include fireworks at 9:30 p.m., a fishing derby for ages 15 and younger with an entry fee of $2 per child and a horseshoe tournament with an entry fee of $20 per team.

Sunday includes a craft and flea market, treasure hunt for ages 3-12, tug-of-war for ages 18 and older, and a beanbag tournament for a cash prize. Entry is $6 per team of six for the tug-of-war and $20 per team of two for the bags.

Musical acts include Relic Hearts on Friday, the Saturday June Band and Field Day on Saturday, and 3AM, a Matchbox 20 tribute band, on Sunday.

Food will be provided by several local restaurants, including Grandma's, Sweet Melissa's Pizza & Pub, Plum Garden, Rosati's and Riverside Chocolate Factory, with roasted corn provided by Krueger's Vegetables.
