Darien business owner nominated for national award

DARIEN - JAK Graphic Design Founder and Owner Jill A. Kerrigan has been nominated for 2016 Woman Business Owner of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners.

Kerrigan was nominated on the basis of her leadership and management skills as well as her contributions to the industry and the community.

Founded in 1975, the National Association of Women Business Owners represents the fastest-growing segment of the economy, working to advance the interests of women entrepreneurs in every type of business through networking, resources, education, and advocacy.

Nominees for Woman Business Owner of the Year is scored on her merit as a professional woman entrepreneur and a community leader, without regard for the sector or size of business. The winner will be announced at the National Women's Business Conference, Sept. 18-20, in Columbus, Ohio.

"I'm so honored to be nominated," Kerrigan said. "And 2016 is a perfect year for it. We are growing fast, hiring great new team members, and bringing in exciting new clients. And just wait till you see our refreshed brand later this summer."

JAK Graphic Design is a marketing and design agency located in Darien, Ill. JAK's clients include American Express and ComEd/Exelon/PECO. Kerrigan founded the company from the basement of her home in 1995, and now employs 16 individuals.
