Palatine council to rule on electronic sign
The Palatine village council is expected to decide Monday night whether or not the Route 62 Wash and Lube at 1570 W. Algonquin Road will be allowed to install an electronic message board on their property.
If the plan is approved, the business would replace the existing 22-square-foot manual message board on their business's sign with an electronic message board. While the village allows electronic message boards in certain commercial areas, the location in question is not one of them.
In July, the village's Zoning Board of Appeals approved Route 62 Wash and Lube's plan, but according to village documents the village staff does not recommend the village council approve the plan.
