Private ambulance worker hospitalized after Buffalo Grove crash

One person was sent to the hospital after a vehicle struck a private ambulance at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads in Buffalo Grove Friday night, police said.

The ambulance had its lights and sirens on as went through the intersection from Arlington Heights Road about 10:30 p.m., police said.

A vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on Dundee Road hit the side of the ambulance, police said.

The ambulance flipped on its side. Three employees were inside of the ambulance, police said, but no patients.

One of the employees was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. That person's condition was not immediately known Saturday night.

The crash remains under investigation.
