Fab Four FAQ: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, Mount Prospect Public Library, 10 S. Emerson, Mount Prospect. Author and Beatles historian Robert Rodriguez takes you through the Beatles Performing Years of 1957-1966. He traces the origins of the group, from their skiffle days as The Quarry Men through the decision to cease touring in 1966, and highlights the great controversies surrounding the group as they segued into becoming a studio act. Rodriguez will also screen a mini-documentary that includes rare photos, interviews, concert segments, and promos, as well as an audio recording made of the Quarry Men on the very day that John Lennon and Paul McCartney were introduced. Dann and Raymond's Movie Club ­- 'Sweet Home Chicago': 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court, Palatine. Daily Herald film critic Dann Gire and author Raymond Bensen return to Palatine Library to present movie clips and trivia about movies made in Chicago. Coffee Talk: 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St., Des Plaines. The public is invited to the Coffee Talk "Chicago and the Memory of the Civil War." Chicago Civil War historian, author, and speaker Robert I. Girardi will explain how Chicago was a source of men, supplies, and transportation from 1861-1865. He has studied the war from various perspectives and will talk about how the conflict helped Chicago become a major city. A $3 donation is suggested.
