$16 million winning Lotto ticket sold in Glen Ellyn

If you bought your Thursday night lottery ticket in Glen Ellyn, you may not have to go to work Monday.

Illinois Lottery officials say the winning Lotto ticket, worth more than $16 million, was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 3S035 Park Blvd.

The ticket matched all six numbers - 16, 24, 28, 33, 48 and 50 - to win a $16,750,000 jackpot in the Thursday drawing.

The store will receive a bonus of $167,500, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Store owner Pat Drace said she doesn't have any details other than her store sold the winning ticket.

"We have a lot of regulars who purchase their tickets here," she said. "I really, really hope it's one of my regulars. That would be so awesome."

Drace said she's previously sold a $10,000 winning ticket.

"That was nice, too, but this is a big deal," she said. "This could change someone's life."

Lottery officials urge the winner to immediately sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they can visit an Illinois Lottery prize center.

Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.
