Find local fare at Farm to Fork Fest in Schaumburg

Feed your inner foodie during the Farm to Fork Festival at the Schaumburg Park District's Volkening Heritage Farm.

Open to adults 21 and older, the fest is set for 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road, Schaumburg.

The evening will feature some of the area's top chefs preparing and serving dishes with locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses. Locally made beers and wines also will be served.

Vendors include Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen, Emmett's Brewing Company and Goose & Fox. Pies from Bang Bang Pie Shop also will be served.

"This is a great opportunity to highlight regional foods, and show there's an alternative to the grocery store," said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator.

Dinner entertainment will feature a live string duo.

Cost is $30 per person. Registration deadline is Monday, Aug. 15.
