Naperville man faces burglary charges after mom calls police

A 20-year-old Naperville man faces felony charges after his mother called police and he was found with stolen items from car burglaries, authorities said.

Nicholas S. Bavol, of the 800 block of Manchester Street, is charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, criminal trespass to a building and criminal trespass to a vehicle.

A DuPage County judge set Bavol's bail Wednesday morning at $7,500.

Naperville police said they were called about 9:07 a.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of Manchester for a complaint of an unwanted person. Arriving officers met with the suspect who was exiting the house. Police said he was trespassing at the home and in possession of stolen property from vehicle burglaries in the area.

Prosecutors said Bavol was leaving his mother's house and she called police because he is not welcome there. Bavol, who has a history of drug offenses, was wearing a backpack that contained the proceeds from the burglaries, prosecutors said.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call police at (630) 420-6666.
