Elmhurst Choral Union Appoints New Conductor
Elmhurst Choral Union announces conductor Scott Uddenberg has been appointed as its director.
Uddenberg is a well-known conductor, soloist, chorister, and educator in the Chicago area. He is familiar to ECU and its audiences, having twice appeared as guest conductor. He also has directed Elmhurst Choral Union Chamber Singers since its founding in 2014.
Scott Uddenberg holds a bachelor's degree in choral music education from DePauw, and a master's degree in Vocal Performance from DePaul.
As a performer, Uddenberg has soloed with Chicago Symphony, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grant Park Music Festival, Ravinia, and Music of the Baroque. He is a longtime member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and Grant Park Chorus.
He is a member of National Association of the Teachers of Singing, American Choral Directors Association, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and Choristers Guild. He is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists and serves as delegate for the Chicago Symphony Chorus.
Scott Uddenberg serves on the voice faculty at Elmhurst College. He is also Director of Music at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Schaumburg, and director of its adult choir.
ECU's upcoming season includes Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Requiem.
