Hoffman Estates offers workshop for chronic health sufferers

The Hoffman Estates Department of Health and Human Services will offer a free six-week workshop for older adults who have chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, or heart disease, or those who live with someone who has a chronic health condition.

The Stanford University-developed program, "Take Charge of Your Health," covers a wide variety of topics, including physical activity, sleep, weight management, and relaxation techniques. The next session will be held at the Hoffman Estates Branch Library from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays from Aug. 19 to Sept. 30.

To register, call (847) 923-3347 or online at schaumburglibrary.org. If you have questions about the program, call Health and Human Services at (847) 781-4850.
