Saturday fun at the Lake County Fair

A rodeo and plenty of music headlined Saturday's events at the Lake County Fair.

Fairgoers had a full schedule of events to choose from, including the main grandstand event - the Pro Rodeo Stampede presented by Big Hat Rodeo. Meanwhile, the grandstand beer garden featured musical entertainment by Dave Dallison and Friends, The Westerlees and Mandy Z and Rural Route 1 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake.

Other Saturday highlights included Battle of the Bands, Mounted Posse equestrian show and performances by the Runaway Circus.

While farm heritage has always been a big component of the Lake County Fair, this year's fair has featured more modern entertainment, including 25 bands, ranging from headliners to school groups. A third beer garden was added as another performance venue.

The Lake County Fair continues until 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information on the fair, visit www.lcfair.com.
