Schaumburg man wins $700,000 lottery prize

A Schaumburg man says he plans to pay bills, invest and take a vacation with the $700,000 prize he won last month in the Illinois Lottery's Lucky Day Lotto.

Michael Ko bought the winning ticket on Father's Day - June 19 - using birth dates of family members as numbers.

"I was shocked to see that the winning numbers matched the numbers on my ticket," Ko said in an Illinois Lottery news release.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, 9660 Golf Road in Des Plaines. The retailer received a bonus of $7,000, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
