Elk Grove park named Rotary Green

A 2.7-acre site that hosted two Elk Grove Village summer concerts this month has been named Rotary Green by the village.

Village officials say the naming is in recognition of the Elk Grove Rotary Club's contributions to the community over the years.

The park at 164 Lions Drive is where the Rotary Club has hosted its annual RotaryFest, and where the village held a July 4 concert with Peter Cetera and a village 60th anniversary concert with Foreigner July 17.

The village bought the land from Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit for $500,000 in June 2014.
